An interview with Lianne Ebbinkhuijsen – Easy Influencing Expert… Always finding better ways…!

How did you get to be a Speaking, Sales and Business Mentor and why?

img_2 My story explains it all. Back in the early 90’s I became a CPA in record time and was immediately labeled as a ‘high potential’.
Hey, I felt geared up for success!

I have worked with big companies in Holland for 14 years in different roles and at all corporate levels.

However, I never really felt like being part of the corporate family.
I often ran into integrity issues and hidden agendas.

Under the surface I grew an overall fear to show my real self as it did not feel safe or wise to do so. I was good, really good at my work. But I realized that if you cannot really show and express yourself, if you cannot ‘sell’ yourself and the value of your brilliant ideas, you will continue to go unnoticed. No one wants to go unnoticed; everyone wants to matter or make a difference! And for me that seemed so complicated, scary and even impossible! I felt like a hidden secret, unable to fulfill my potential. Very frustrating.

One day in 1998, I had to do a very important presentation in front of an international audience of 22 men, before which I had made a fool of myself 2 years earlier. So on that particular day I was very nervous, not knowing how my speech would go. And it was there and then, I DECIDED to stop what I had been doing for years; I decided to stop sustaining an image of a strong and professional woman and surrendered. I decided not to listen to the conflicting voices in my head and surrendered.

img_4So when it was my turn to present, I decided to go, that’s all. Just to stand up, go and allow myself this ‘not knowing’ of what would happen. So I went, stood up there for a moment, looked at a few people, into their eyes and I had my best speech ever, resulting in a 100% buy-in for a new idea!

And since this ‘defining moment’ of letting my walls down and not working so hard for safety, I just wanted more! For the first time in my life it was EASY for me to influence others in an authentic and highly effective way. Finally I proved to myself that it can be easy, as deep down I have this belief that there is always an easy way to get where you want to go.

I became passionate about speaking and selling as the two most vulnerable forms of influencing. Through self-education, being coached by the best and testing what I had learned [!] I mastered my influencing skills and they became … easy, heartfelt and they lead to big results!

Shortly after starting my own business in 2009, people asked me to teach them what I was doing in this field. Once I calculated my own conversion rate [of one on one conversations], it became totally clear why people reached out to me: 88% conversion with hardly any marketing in place and not having spent years and years in sales. It can be easy!

It was then that I decided to devote my professional life for to supporting other ambitious independent professionals on how to become visible by speaking and how to handle sales conversations, so that they can get their word out, grow their business and make more money in a meaningful way!
 
In 2012 my business went through the roof and I transformed my Dutch practice into a Global Company in less than 6 months. During that intense journey I had to learn a lot in short period of time. I had to become a good marketeer; offline as well as online.

Who are your clients exactly?

I work with ambitious independent professionals and entrepreneurs. Professionals who are really good at what they do and feel they have great potential, but find it difficult to be visible in a big way, craft their message, speak or sell their ideas or services. They really want to have a bigger impact than they currently have.

They are top coaches, consultants, trainers, advisors, creators of knowledge-platforms, service professionals with new ideas or even CEO’s/founders of companies that provide extraordinary solutions. Sometimes they call themselves Agents of change, Entrepreneurs 4.0 or Leaders of the new world.People who feel that they have got to get their word out in a big way and reach a lot of people. However, they have never been taught exactly how to do that in an authentic, professional and easy way.
 
They are extremely passionate and good at what they do. Professionals that know and feel that they are more than mediocre but somehow find it difficult to really show and sell that. Many of them already have had some successes but cannot seem to find a way to leverage their influence and impact.
 

What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?

My products and programs were created for people who are absolutely excited and dead serious about getting out there and growing their business. Professionals who really want to step up their game and KNOW they have great potential but who miss the tools, mindset and guidance to go out, make themselves visible and really sell themselves. Often they are driven by a higher purpose or wanting to contribute to a better world in some way.
I only work with professionals for whom their personal growth and their business are IMPORTANT enough to be willing to spend time, energy and money on themselves. Being a highly achieving go-getter myself, I’m known to work best with other highly achieving go-getters who are ready to get going.
And… who want to enjoy the journey while persuing their dreams. If there is no joy, then what’s the point?

For what type of professional is it NOT going to work?

I’m very selective in whom I work with. My programs are NOT for everyone. They are not for those who expect magic and therefore take no responsibility for their own actions. You will only get results if you are willing to explore, willing to be uncomfortable sometimes and willing to do the work.

Another type of person I won’t work with (without exception) is the whiner or the chronic skeptic, as well as individuals who refuse to self reflect. If you are one of these people, I gently and respectfully ask that you do not contact us and I hope you understand why. We’ll just not work well together and I wouldn’t want you to waste your time or money.
